In Kharkiv, a Russian missile gunner was sentenced to the city's defense factories

In Kharkiv, the Criminal Court announced the verdict for a man who aimed Russian missiles at the city's defense plants. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office and SBU.

This is about an employee of a local pharmaceutical company who collected information about military facilities under the guise of business trips, including about defense enterprises.

The convict also traveled around Kharkiv, taking screenshots from a map indicating the territory he traveled. In the image, the man noticed Ukrainian checkpoints, dugouts, fortifications and other military facilities.

The SBU counterintelligence exposed the person involved and detained him during a special operation in the regional center in September 2023. In the man's apartment and car, mobile phones with diagrams of the locations of potential targets were seized, which he tried to transfer to the FSB.

The court found the man guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
