In Kamchatka, 9 visitors to the polluted Khalaktyrsky beach, which has recently become known throughout the country, were forced to seek medical help. This was reported by the RIA Novosti agency with reference to the acting head of the Ministry of Health of the region Marina Volkova.

According to the official, 9 citizens who had direct contact with water on the Pacific coast complained of redness and burning in their eyes, as well as deterioration of vision and a veil in front of their eyes. As the doctors found out, all nine patients received 1st degree chemical burns of the cornea. At the same time, Volkova noted that a mobile FAP will be organized on the Khalaktyr beach, where citizens can turn for help in case of deterioration in their health. The acting head of the Kamchatka Ministry of Health added that until the final results of laboratory tests are obtained, it is difficult to say which chemical substance got into the water.
A little earlier, the head of the region named three alleged causes of water pollution on the peninsula. According to him, we can talk about industrial pollution, natural factors or the spill of some toxic substances. In particular, stressed Solodov, the pollution could have been caused by algae that got to the coastline as a result of the storm.
On October 2, there were reports that a large number of marine animals and fish were thrown onto the ocean shore, on the territory of the Khalaktyr beach. In addition, local surfers began to complain of blurred vision, sore throat, nausea, and fever. Young people faced such symptoms after immersion in water.
