Gold production in Russia in January-August 2020 decreased by 7.6% and amounted to 214.59 tons compared to 232.16 tons in January-August last year, the Ministry of Finance said, citing data on the supply of raw materials to Russian refineries.
The production of mined gold increased by 3% to 184.15 tons. At the same time, the production of secondary gold fell by half, to 19.13 tons, associated – by 11%, to 11.31 tons.
According to estimates, in August, the total gold production fell by 19% compared to August 2019, amounting to 38.29 tons. At the same time, not only re-processing and associated mining decreased, but also the production of mined gold – it sank by 4%, to 34.05 tons.
Silver production in Russia in January-August fell by 6.3% to 594.99 tons. The production of mined silver decreased by 7.3% to 284.89 tons. Secondary silver output fell 16.3% to 89.18 tons. Associated silver production remained almost unchanged and amounted to 220.92 tons.
