A mural in honor of the poet and military man Yury Ruf, who died on April 1, 2022 in the battles near the town of Popasna, Luhansk region, appeared on one of the houses in the Sykhiv district of Lviv.
Someone knew him personally, someone went together to defend the state, and someone else read his books and participated in events or bought Power and Intelligence merchandise. The combination that best characterizes Hero Yuriy Ruf. They will know about him from the memory that lives in his actions, the name of the street, and from now on – the murals in his native Sikhiv, – writes Andriy Moskalenko.
Yuriy Ruf is a Ukrainian poet, public figure, publisher, screenwriter, founder of the conceptual literary project “Spirit of the Nation”, which became influential in the right-wing nationalist environment. One of the ideologues of Ukrainian offensive nationalism and the military rock scene.
Yuriy Ruf was born in Ternopil Oblast and volunteered to defend Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale war. He fought in the Lviv 24th Brigade. Died heroically in the spring of 2022 in the Luhansk Region and was awarded the “For Courage” award.
