In Germany, scientists have learned to break down a protein that contributes to the onset and development of cancer. This is an experimental drug based on a new type of substance called protac.

In Germany, scientists have learned to destroy the protein that triggers cancer

The results of scientific work are presented on the website of the Julius and Maximilian University of W├╝rzburg in Germany. As the scientists explained, the process of cancer development is triggered by oncogenic proteins. Specialists have not yet come up with anything better for dealing with a deadly disease, how to suppress these units. It should be noted that inhibitors are designed for a limited list of proteins, and for example, there is no such agent for Aurora A kinase. This enzyme is present in higher concentrations in affected tissues and plays a special role in the development of several types of cancer, including pediatric oncology.

German scientists have created an experimental drug for Aurora A kinase. During his testing, it turned out that the substance completely destroys the protein in cancer units, provoking their death. Protac acts like a chopper on the enzyme, continuing to break it down until nothing is left of it. Scientists are currently continuing to research a new drug.
