In France, a man received a prison sentence for threatening to carry out terrorist attacks online

A 29-year-old man was sentenced to eight months in prison in Strasbourg, France, for “incitement to commit a terrorist act” after posting online messages threatening to carry out terrorist attacks.

This was reported by AFP with reference to judicial sources, reports “European Pravda”.

In its decision, the court also ruled that the man from the Dubs region should remain in custody.

In the reports, posted on the social network Snapchat, the man predicted “tears and blood”, mentioned weapons and called on people to join him.

Law enforcement was notified of these messages on December 19 through the Pharos platform, which allows you to report illegal content on the Internet.

The man was quickly arrested at a drug rehabilitation center in Alsace, where he had just been placed.

He had previously been convicted of a similar crime related to “direct incitement to an act of terrorism committed using online public communication services”.

According to the publication, the man, who has been suffering from polydrug addict, also takes a heavy course of medication.

After his release from prison, he will be under social and judicial supervision for five years. Among other things, he is obliged to undergo a course of treatment.

Recently, four men suspected of planning terrorist attacks were arrested in western North Macedonia.

It was also reported that three supporters of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” were arrested in the German federal states of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg, who were planning a terrorist attack.
