In fact, you have enough time: how to stop wasting it on nonsense

>> manage your time properly/Drazen Zigic

Do you feel that you are constantly running out of time? The feeling when the day seems to pass quickly and the important things are left for tomorrow is familiar to many.

However, Akshad Singhi, the author of the blog on Medium, claims that it is not actually the amount of time, but the because of how we dispose of it. A lot of time is spent on the little things that drain our energy, reports the “Start Something!” Telegram channel.

In his article, Singhi offers four simple steps to help you change your approach. to time management and achieve extraordinary results.

1. Divide the day into blocks

Time management in block format is a technique popularized by Cal Newport. It will help you understand how to organize your day. All that is needed is to write down the day's plan on paper every day, dividing it into specific time segments for each task. This will help you not only to be more organized, but also to see that there is actually more time than it seems. Regular use of this method will help you get rid of the feeling of lack of time forever.

2. “Eat a frog” for breakfast

Procrastination is often caused by stress from the most difficult tasks. If you constantly put off important things until the evening, there is a risk that they will remain undone. The best way to solve this problem is to do the most difficult task first thing in the morning. This will give you a sense of victory for the whole day and allow you to cope with other things more easily.

3. Microvisualization

In the evening before going to bed, think about your next day, visualize every block of it that you planned earlier. This will help your brain prepare for tomorrow and provide extra motivation to stick to your planned schedule. This approach creates a double anchor for the brain, helping to concentrate better.

4. Use a timer

A timer is an underrated productivity tool. By turning it on while you're on task, you'll help your mind stay focused on the task at hand. This creates a sense of responsibility and helps avoid distractions. This simple step can greatly increase your efficiency.

These four actions seem simple, but doing them regularly can be the key to making your day more productive and feeling like you're running out of time forever.
