A scammer from Dnipro extorted money from relatives of defenders. The criminal stole about 160 thousand hryvnias from the victims
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
The scammer sold non-existent cars to people who were looking for cars to transfer to the front. According to the police, he created fake accounts on several social networks and imitated the sale of various cars. He took a subscription fee from each “client”.
The victims transferred money to bank accounts provided by the scammer. After receiving the money, he said that the cars were supposedly in another place and that they had to wait. Then he simply did not get in touch. Thus, the scammer defrauded two buyers of more than 160 thousand hryvnias. Among the victims were relatives of military personnel.
Law enforcement officers exposed the scammer and conducted searches. Phones, various SIM cards, equipment, money and other evidence were found in his home. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Art. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
