In California, a law was passed to protect brain data from neurotechnologies

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a law extending personal data protections to neural data obtained through implants and wearable devices.

Amendments to the California Consumer Protection Act classify "brain data" as personal information alongside genetic and biometric data.

Neural technologies are developing rapidly, and this law provides important measures to protect user privacy. This is especially important for patients with mental disorders and people who use the latest devices to improve their quality of life.

The new law gives the right to know what data is being collected, to limit its use and to request its deletion. This step, according to experts, sends a strong signal to the neurotechnology industry about the need to protect mental privacy.
