Real winter has come to Africa, heavy snowfall has been recorded there. In some places, snowdrifts reached two meters. More snow is expected. France 24 reports on this.

The N3 highway, connecting Johannesburg and Durban, was particularly hard hit. Even bypass routes were impassable. And emergency services were trying to reach people in cars in parts where the road was closed.
— Emergency services worked non-stop all night. They tried to reach as many road users as possible, – a representative of emergency services told France 24.
It is noted that blankets and food were delivered to some motorists who found themselves in a difficult situation.
Buses running between provinces were stuck at gas stations and stood there for about seven hours. In some areas, up to two meters of snow fell.
According to local meteorologists, more snowfall is expected.
