Tver athletes will take part in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Governor Igor Rudenya announced this on July 22 live on the Russia-24 Tver TV channel.
In the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Tver athletes will join the Russian teams. Two rowers from Tver will represent the Tver region in the discipline of rowing and canoeing, another rower will start in another rowing sport. It is also reported that Daria Klishina, a native of the Tver region, will perform in the athletics discipline.
– I would like to note that for us the participation of athletes from Tver in such a serious sporting event as the Olympic Games is a great responsibility. The Tver region will be represented by the natives of the region in several sports. Even if this year our country again performs under a neutral flag, this does not beg for the merits of our athletes and their coaches, – said Igor Rudenya.
Let us remind you that Governor Igor Rudenya regularly addresses the residents of the Tver region on the air. On Thursday, July 22, the head of the region touched upon the topic of gasification, spoke about new enterprises, road repairs, the fight against the pandemic and other relevant topics.
