He was appointed by the government,  Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on his telegram channel.

"After discussion with the Parliament, there will be a submission for the appointment of a new head of the department. Ministry of the Interior – one of the key links in the security of our country, and therefore the necessary protocols are in place to maintain control over all processes,” the message says.
