The military announced the closure of the border crossings between Israel and Gaza for the upcoming Jewish holidays.
On Rosh Hashanah, the checkpoints will be closed from 16:00 on September 25 until midnight September 27.
On Yom Kippur, the crossings will be closed at midnight on October 4 for two days.
During Sukkot, traffic will be stopped on October 9 at 16:00 and will last until midnight next day. crossings will also be closed between 16:00 and 24:00 on October 17.
Exceptions during the upcoming closure will be made for humanitarian and other cases approved by the coordinator of activities of the government of the Ministry of Defense.
Such closures are standard practice during festivals and holidays, which the military says is a preventative measure against attacks during these times, which are seen as periods of heightened tension.
