IAEA: six ZNPP units remain offline

The IAEA commented on the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP, which was completely disconnected from the network today for the first time in history.

The agency reported that the NPP in the city of Energodar is still connected to 330 kV line from a nearby thermal power plant that can provide backup power.

“All 6 power units are still offline,” the IAEA said.

The head of the agency, Rafael Grossi, said: “Almost every day there is a new incident at or near the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. We can't waste any more time. I intend to personally lead the IAEA mission that will arrive at the station in the coming days to help stabilize the nuclear and security situation.”
