The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) General Conference approved the resolution Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards in Ukraine, according to which the Zaporizhzhya NPP occupied by Russians should be exclusively under Ukrainian control. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

The IAEA resolution confirms that Ukrainian nuclear power plants, including the Zaporizhzhya NPP, should operate under the full control of Ukraine. The IAEA calls on Russia to immediately withdraw its military and other personnel from the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and return the station to the control of the Ukrainian authorities.

Until the moment of return of the Zaporizhzhya NPP to the control of Ukraine, Russia is required to provide the IAEA with unrestricted access to all facilities and information at the nuclear power plant.

The document expresses support for the IAEA's further efforts to overcome nuclear safety risks in Ukraine, especially in the context of the decision of the Director General of the Agency to send monitoring missions to high-voltage substations, which are key to the operation of Ukrainian NPPs, the Ministry of Energy notes.
