The Union of Professionals of Laval–Rive-Nord, (SPPLRN-SCFP, affiliated with the FTQ) in turn obtains a hypothesis of sectoral agreement. This is the last union member of the Common Front to obtain such an agreement.

In a statement published on social networks, the SPPLRN- CUPE, affiliated with the FTQ, announces that it has reached an agreement at 1:03 a.m. on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday at the sectoral table which concerns working conditions.

This union represents around 1,000 education professionals from 33 different job categories (nutritionists, remedial teachers, psychologists, social workers, guidance counselors, etc.) , working with 137,000 students spread across 235 schools in the Laval region.

This new settlement hypothesis concludes the round of negotiations of the eight sectoral tables of the FTQ. These settlement hypotheses will be presented to the authorities shortly.

The FTQ also recalls that to avoid the unlimited general strike likely to be launched at the beginning of 2024, it will also be necessary to agree to the central table, where salaries and pensions are negotiated. Negotiations continue today.
