As part of the HDC 2020 event aimed at developers, the debut of EMUI 11 took place. In addition, information was provided on the launch of the software beta testing stage on several smartphone models at once. Builds are based on Android 10, and not on the latest version of the OS from Google, as many believed. Later, additional comments were made on this score. It was confirmed that EMUI 11 provides separate functions for Android 11. Huawei could not fully build its shell on the latest version of the operating system from Google due to the US sanctions.
It also became known that smartphones based on EMUI 11 will be able to receive an update to the new HarmonyOS in the foreseeable future. However, it is not yet clear what models we are talking about. It is also unknown whether such an update will be mandatory.
