How to prevent your smartphone from slowing down over time: useful tips

Over time, any Android smartphone can start to work slower. To prevent this from happening, it is important to use the device correctly, following a few simple rules.

1. Controlling app permissions

Most apps require certain permissions to run in the background, send notifications, and consume device resources. This can slow down your smartphone. That's why it's important to limit apps' access to unnecessary features.

Also, don't forget that previously granted permissions can be revoked. This will help reduce the load on the system.

2. Automatically clean up RAM

Apps running in the background take up your device's RAM. To avoid having to manually clean your RAM, you can enable the auto-clean feature:

  • Go to “Settings”.
  • Go to “Battery”, then — “Advanced features”.
  • Enable the automatic cleaning option.

This function will forcefully close unnecessary programs, which will positively affect the speed and autonomy of the gadget.

3. Providing free space in the memory

A smartphone needs enough free space for stable operation. It is recommended to leave at least 15-20% of free space on the drive or at least 10-15 GB.

In addition, the drive gradually slows down due to constant cycles of writing and deleting data. Therefore, you should not overload the device with unnecessary information.

Another tip – do not use the RAM expansion function at the expense of the drive's memory. It does not increase performance, but accelerates the wear of the drive.

4. System updates

System updates should be installed thoughtfully. Not all updates can have a positive effect on performance, so this issue should be approached wisely.

5. Powerful processor – the key to durability

Although it is inevitable that your smartphone will slow down over time, a powerful processor will help extend the life of your device. When choosing a new smartphone, you should give preference to models with a powerful chip, even if you do not use resource-intensive applications or games. This approach will provide a performance margin of 2-3 years.
