How to prevent your smartphone from slowing down over time: simple tips for long-term use

Do you have an Android smartphone? Then you have probably noticed that over time it can start to work slower. To avoid this problem, it is important to follow a few simple rules.

1. Controlling permissions for applications

Please note: most applications request access to various phone functions in order to run in the background, send messages and consume resources. This can cause your device to work slowly. Therefore, it is important to limit the access of applications to those functions that you do not need.

Remember that you can always revoke the permissions you have previously granted. This will help reduce the load on the system.

2. Automatic RAM cleaning

Did you know that apps running in the background consume your phone's RAM? To free up RAM without any effort, activate the auto-cleaning feature:

  • Go to “Settings”.
  • Go to the section “Battery”, then — “Additional features”.
  • Enable the automatic cleaning option.

This function will close unnecessary programs, increasing the performance and autonomy of your gadget.

3. Ensuring free space in the storage

Your smartphone needs enough free space for stable operation. It is recommended to leave at least 15-20% free space on the storage, or at least 10-15 GB. Why is this important? To avoid slowdowns! The storage can also “clog” due to frequent writing and deleting of data.

In addition, do not use the RAM expansion function at the expense of the storage memory — this will not increase performance, but may accelerate the wear of the storage.

4. System Updates

What about system updates? It's important to be smart here. Not all updates have a positive effect on performance. Think twice before clicking “update”.

5. A powerful processor — a guarantee of durability

Although it's natural to watch your smartphone slow down over time — a powerful processor can extend the “life” of your device. If you're choosing a new smartphone, look for models with powerful chips, even if you don't play resource-intensive games.
