How to improve the signal quality of a Wi-Fi router in a minute: a simple trick

Experts note that a weak Wi-Fi signal is often caused by the wrong location of the router in the house or the influence of other devices. Sometimes the problem is that the equipment needs to be rebooted to restore proper operation.

Many people mistakenly believe that the router does not need special attention and can work continuously without interruptions. However, regular reboots are necessary to ensure stable operation of the device.

Make sure your router is installed correctly. It is recommended to place it as high as possible from the floor, because the signal propagates in an arc, and while on the floor, some of the signal may simply be lost.

Keep the router away from other electronic devices, such as refrigerators and microwaves. The optimal place for a router is often considered to be a corridor, since the signal easily spreads to neighboring rooms, and usually there is no more than one wall between the device and the router.

If even with the correct placement, the Wi-Fi signal remains weak, try the 10-second rule . Turn off the router from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and turn it on again. This advice is often recommended by Internet providers in case of network problems.

Over time, the router accumulates errors in its operation, which can lead to a loss of speed and data transmission failures. Rebooting helps to fix these issues and bring your device back to normal. This is especially important if the router works continuously for a long time.

There is no clear recommendation on the frequency of rebooting, but for preventive purposes it is advisable to do it at least once a week.

Here is what is important to consider when choosing the Internet for remote work regardless of your profession.
