How to identify programs that slow down your laptop

Many users face the problem of slowing down their laptop when it becomes less responsive to commands or it takes too long to load programs.

In such a situation, you can take a few simple steps to speed up the device.

Experts It is said that the number one cause of slowdown is data fragmentation. When you work with a file or run a program, your computer accesses your hard drive, which can lead to its fragmentation — when parts of files are scattered all over the drive. This makes it difficult to access data, reducing performance.

Another common cause of lag is lost programs. All computer programs consist of multiple files, and over time, they can become scattered across your disk. This makes it difficult to open programs and slows down overall system performance.

Another factor is autorun programs. When you turn on your computer, many programs start automatically, taking up RAM and increasing boot time. The more such programs, the longer you have to wait for them to fully launch.

Another important problem is the problem of programs that you do not use. They take up valuable space on your hard drive, thereby reducing system performance.

To’find out which programs are taking up the most resources, use the standard Windows utility — «Task Manager». Just press «Ctrl + Alt + Delete» and select «Task Manager». In the «Processes» tab, you can sort running programs by CPU usage. The programs that take up the most resources will appear at the top of the list.

To improve your computer's performance, follow a few simple tips: remove unnecessary programs, update your browser and disable unnecessary add-ons, defragment your hard drive, upgrade your RAM for better data processing. Also, instead of a traditional hard drive, consider installing an SSD – this will significantly improve data access speed.
