How to easily calibrate the battery of a Xiaomi smartphone and why it is necessary

In some cases, the battery of Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO smartphones may discharge faster than usual or turn off suddenly even with more than one percent charge. This indicates the need for battery calibration.

Details

Uncalibrated battery – a common phenomenon. Using fast charging, wireless charging, or frequent charging to 100 percent may cause the charge level to display incorrectly. Therefore, you need to calibrate your battery from time to time.

Battery calibration in HyperOS/MIUI is quite simple, but requires you to follow all the steps precisely:

  1. Charge to 100 percent (fully charge the battery and wait a few minutes after reaching the maximum).
  2. Full discharge (use the device until the battery is completely discharged and do not charge at this stage).
  3. Rest the device (leave the device for several hours after full discharge , to use up the remaining charge).
  4. Charge to 100 percent (charge the battery to 100% with the device turned off or with minimal use).
  5. Turn on the device (turn on the device and use it normally ).

These actions will help to calibrate and adjust the battery. To avoid frequent calibration, it is recommended to maintain the charge value between 20 and 80 percent. This prevents overheating and reaching extreme values, ensuring that the perfect calibration is maintained for a long period of time.
