How “Hell” will expand the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, explained Romanenko

So far, not many characteristics of the new missile drone “Hell”, which Ukraine has begun mass-producing, are known. But some conclusions can be drawn from the already published data: speed and range. This was stated today, December 7, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel, by the founder of the charitable foundation “Let's Close the Sky of Ukraine”, Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko.

The declared speed — 700 km/h — this is a good speed, which is due to the presence of a jet engine, he explains.

“What does this give? Firstly, the rapid achievement of the target for destruction, and this is important. That is: they have been scouted, clarified and must be used to be more effective, on the one hand. On the other hand, these are the possibilities of safer passage of enemy air defense zones, because to destroy a target at such a speed, their anti-aircraft calculations must have a high level”, — the guest of the broadcast comments.

The range of “Hell” — 700 km — expands the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Romanenko states.

“Therefore, our Defense Forces will have new opportunities to strike at warehouses, logistical support routes, accumulations of weapons, equipment, control and communication systems, etc. We can list them. As they say, our defenders would have the tools, and we see the application and know how they can do it”, — he says.

The main thing, according to Romanenko, is how quickly it will be possible to scale up production.

“Because strike unmanned aerial vehicles are being developed in all areas: air, ground, surface, underwater. However, they do not have such a powerful warhead, so quite a lot of such means are needed to effectively hit an object. And with a jet engine, the possibilities for delivering a more powerful warhead increase. And this, in turn, indicates great possibilities for achieving and destroying enemy targets”, — comments the founder of the charitable foundation “Let's Close the Sky of Ukraine”.

According to Romanenko, Ukraine has been implementing four missile programs since 2022, including ballistic complexes, and he expects them to be used next year.
