HMD Skyline smartphone has started updating to Android 15 operating system

HMD Skyline smartphone is the second device from the brand to receive the Android 15 update.

The over-the-air (OTA) update is already rolling out to users in Finland, and is expected to be available in other countries and regions in the coming days. It has the build number V2.270 and is 3.3 GB in size. The update includes the December 2024 security patch.

The Android 15 update brings HMD Skyline:

  • Increased performance: Enjoy a faster and smoother experience with system performance optimizations, including faster app launch times, reduced lag, and improved battery management.
  • Improved privacy and security protections: Stricter app permissions, automatic permission reset, and improved data encryption provide advanced privacy protections, keeping your data safe security.
  • Improved Adaptive Battery: The update includes smarter power management that extends battery life by learning your usage patterns and allocating resources more efficiently.
  • Advanced Notification System: A more advanced notification system gives users more control over which apps and events can send notifications, improving focus and reducing distractions.

HMD promised the HMD Skyline two Android OS updates, so Android 16 will be the final one for it.
