September 12, 2021 by archyde

Two “sources” familiar with the matter said that top US health officials believe that the use of the Pfizer vaccine against Covid-19 may be allowed for children aged five to 11 years old by the end of October.

The two sources stated that the time frame is based on expectations that Pfizer, which created the vaccine in cooperation with the German Biontech, will have sufficient data from clinical trials to request approval for emergency use for this age group from the US Food and Drug Administration by the end of this month.

According to their expectations, the administration may make a decision about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine for children within 3 weeks of submitting the application.

Millions of Americans are awaiting the decision to approve the vaccination of children, especially parents whose children began school in the past weeks, amid a wave of infections caused by the spread of the delta strain of the Corona virus.
