Here are 4 key Android features that Apple hasn't yet implemented on the iPhone

Apple has always provided an elegant design that gives the devices a sense of luxury and quality. However, even with this level of hardware, there are certain features that Apple has not implemented despite their availability on Android devices.

While the iPhone 16 series has several useful updates, some aspects remain the same.

Fast charging

In recent years, Apple has focused on improving the autonomy of its devices, but charging has remained at the same level. All iPhone 16s only support 25W charging, and even then only with a compatible charger. This lags behind the competition: for example, the OnePlus 12 offers 100W of wired charging, while the Xiaomi 14 Ultra – 90 W. While Apple may be concerned about battery life, a slight increase in charging speed would be a good idea.

On-screen fingerprint scanner

Since 2017, when the iPhone X ditched the physical fingerprint sensor in favor of Face ID, Apple hasn't introduced an alternative. Under-display scanners have been around for a long time, and while many Android devices still use optical sensors, the ultrasonic versions on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL are significantly faster and more accurate. At the same time, Apple still has no plans to develop Face ID for integration under the display.

Stylus support

With his famous statement about the stylus, Steve Jobs noted that it is a thing that “nobody needs to use”. However, in 2015, Apple released the Apple Pencil, which became known for its pressure and tilt sensitivity, but it is only compatible with the iPad. A stylus that would work with the iPhone would make sense, especially for high-end models like the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

High refresh rate screen (on non-professional models)

Apple has integrated displays with a 120Hz refresh rate on the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, but most other models have remained at 60Hz since then. This means that the displays on the base models of the iPhone 16 will be less smooth compared to the budget phones, which is disappointing, especially if you are paying from $799 for the iPhone 16 or $899 for the iPhone 16 Plus.

Despite these absences, the lack of these functions does not reduce the attractiveness of the iPhone 16, which remains among the best phones on the market. There are tons of features I'm excited to test, including those that may come to Android devices in the future.
