A man was arrested in Chile for transporting a drum with a dismembered woman inside in broad daylight.

The crimeoccurred in the commune of San Ramón located in Santiago de Chile. The neighbors became aware of this situation when they saw a man of Haitian nationality carrying a 200-liter metal drum down the street.

The man acted in a suspicious manner and the witnesses decided to notify the authorities, who arrived and proceeded to inspect and arrest this 28-year-old person.

The Carabineros police major, Sergio Rodríguez, specified that they were alerted when they were patrolling the sector, and that “given this background, the Carabineros go to do an identity check and while they are carrying out this action, they check the drum and realize the unfortunate situation of finding a woman who was lifeless inside”.

The mayor of San Ramón, Gustavo Toro, assured that the victim would be a neighbor who lived in the commune. “It is unfortunate because it is a sector where adults and children live, and it was a crime that was committed in broad daylight, before 3:00 p.m..”

The authorities They highlighted that “we found some images that could give us some clues, particularly, of the transfer that this individual would have made of the drum and of a blood wash that he made from inside the home to the street.”

Other backgrounds

Apparently the detainee and the victim would have had a relationship and between them there would have been “discussions in previous days and this was a situation, according to the version of the neighbors, that became a bit natural, that's why it didn't catch their attention.” Sub-prefect Jorge Abatte of the Investigative Police (PDI) said that the deceased had “cut injuries to the neck and abdominal region.”

The prosecution confirmed that the victim filed a complaint before these events.

“There was a previous complaint in respect of which the victim would have withdrawn, requesting that the measures that had been adopted in her favor be annulled , notwithstanding which the prosecution had decided to persevere with the investigation,” said prosecutor Luis Morales.

In the last hours the police worked at the scene of the event and the detainee was transferred to a police station. It is expected that on this day he will be brought to justice.
