He stole almost 14,000 UAH in a second: a fraudster robbed an orphaned student in Kyiv

According to the results of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the accused had previously been friends with the victim. Once, the 20-year-old fraudster asked the orphaned teenager for his phone.

Using someone else's gadget, a notification appeared on the screen about the receipt of a scholarship to the bank account. Then the friend saw that the bank application was installed on the mobile phone. He decided to take advantage of this by secretly checking his friend's accounts.

It turned out that the login details had been saved. Having logged into online banking, the fraudster was able to transfer someone else's funds to his card in a second. Thus, he stole 13,600 UAH.

As noted by the prosecutors of the Podilskyi District Prosecutor's Office, the fraudster spent these funds on celebrating his birthday.

So, by their joint decision, an indictment was sent to the court. A 20-year-old Kyiv resident is accused of stealing money from a minor orphan's card. He faces up to 8 years in prison for the crime.
