Harry Potter: This Mistake in the Movies About Mad Eye That the Series Should Avoid

Nicknamed Mad-Eye, Alastor Moody is a key character in Harry Potter. This former member of the Ministry of Magic, who became an Auror as powerful as he is effective, is an ally and an authority figure for the hero of the saga. However, the films did not do him justice, on one point in particular, which the series must correct, like these two other elements!

Mad-Eye, a botched character?

Alastor Moody is a recurring character in the Harry Potter films. The first time he appears on screen, in The Goblet of Fire, it was Barty Crouch Jr. who disguised himself as him. He will also later star in The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows. It is during the latter that he meets a fatal fate: he helps orchestrate the plan that saves Harry's life, and costs him his own. While helping the hero escape from 4, Privet Drive, he is killed during the Battle of the Seven Potters, by a Killing Curse cast by Voldemort. His body will never be found, except for his magical eye, which will adorn the door of Dolores Umbridge's office at the Ministry of Magic until Harry retrieves and buries it.

Harry Potter: This mistake in the films about Mad Eye that the series must avoid

Alastor Moody is a very gifted wizard, who knows how to fight and is able to counter certain particularly deadly spells. He also participated in the First Wizarding War and has become accustomed to forbidden spells, especially against Voldemort's disciples. He is one of the few Aurors who can stand up to Tom Riddle and his terrifying Death Eaters. The films were wrong not to show his death, which takes place off-screen, feeling even more like a missed opportunity. TheDeathly Hallows should have had an epic scene between Mad-Eye and Voldemort, two of the most powerful characters in Harry Potter.

A sequence that we hope to see in the future series!
