Harris congratulates Trump on election victory

Vice President Kamala Harris called President-elect Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the 2024 presidential election.

This was reported by a senior adviser to her campaign headquarters, Voice of America reports.

The interlocutors reportedly discussed the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and the role of the president for all Americans. The conversation lasted several minutes.

The Trump campaign released a statement in this regard.

“President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke by phone this morning (Nov. 6), and she congratulated him on his historic victory. President Trump praised Vice President Harris's strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders recognized the importance of unity in the country,” the document says.

Later on Wednesday, Nov. 6, Harris gave a speech at Howard University in Washington.

Meanwhile, an ABC News correspondent reported on Platform X that President Joe Biden will speak with Donald Trump and congratulate him.

The reporter also reported that Joe Biden will deliver an address on Thursday, Nov. 7.
