One of the aviation companies of the Russian Federation has suspended the use of half of the fleet of Western Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft. It cannot carry out their repair and maintenance.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Kommersant.
According to the publication, 34 out of 66 A320/A321neo aircraft are currently unable to fly. Problems with their engines have been identified.
It is noted that the technologies of these aircraft are quite complex, therefore, due to the lack of parts, it is impossible to carry out engine maintenance and repairs. And the parts are not available in Russia due to the sanctions. Due to these same sanctions, the Russian owner of the S7 aircraft cannot purchase new engines to replace them.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000It is known that the situation is difficult with aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney PW1100G and LEAP engines. The former cannot be upgraded due to the refusal of the owners, and the latter “have difficulties, although not so serious”.
It is worth noting that the A320/A321neo fleet makes up about 10% of the entire foreign aircraft fleet in Russia. Therefore, the problem with the aircraft will “critically affect” the volume of air transportation in the Russian Federation. And the decommissioning of all A320/A321neo from operation will lead to a reduction in transportation by up to 15% next year.
