GUR and CPD took on Russian propagandists

On the War & Sanctions portal, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council have launched a new section «Kremlin Mouthpieces». It contains photos and information about Russian propagandists and media managers. Currently, 55 people have been included in the first list. In the future, the section is planned to be replenished with new «mouthpieces».

The goal of the initiative is to publicly tell the whole world about Russian propagandists, block them, impose sanctions, ban entry, close bank accounts, and stop any cooperation with them. After all, Russian propaganda supports violence, glorifies the Russian armed forces, justifies aggression and war crimes, uses dehumanization and hatred of Ukraine as fuel for war, and challenges Ukraine's ability to continue the fight.

«Weaponization of information – part of the Russian military doctrine. Today, the Kremlin is waging war not only with missiles, tanks and cannons. Its information war does not have a clearly defined front line and is spreading around the world. By investing significant resources in it, the Russian authorities are trying to destabilize Ukraine and the world, influence political processes and shape public opinion in different regions of the planet in their own aggressive interests. In the first year of the war alone, Russia Today in Arabic increased its reach by 10 million users. In the 2025 budget, Russia has allocated $1.42 billion to finance propaganda. Russia spends another half a billion dollars a year on creating propaganda by structures not affiliated with the state, – the GUR press service reports.

«The aggressor's propaganda troops have no place in the civilized world!» – it is in the text.

The GUR also published some of the names from the list of Russian propagandists:

– Valeriy Gergiev – Russian conductor and personal friend of Putin. Supports the annexation of Crimea and the war against Ukraine. After the refusal of world theaters and philharmonics to cooperate with Gergiev, the financing of his charitable foundation by VTB Bank, Russian Railways, Sberbank of Russia, oligarch Alisher Usmanov, the Moscow government and other state organizations increased tenfold. Putin himself transferred the management of the second largest theater in the Russian Federation to Gergiev. At the same time, Gergiev owns real estate in the USA and Italy.

– Vladimir Tabak – organizer of Putin's support campaigns, responsible for the PR of the Russian Defense Ministry and the creation of fakes about Ukraine. Manipulates the results of sociological research, develops «temniki» for Russian media. Involved in attempts to influence the US presidential election in 2024 and a campaign to create deepfake against American, European and British public figures.

– Khrystyna Potupchyk – manages one of the key contractors of the Russian presidential administration for the distribution of «viral» online propaganda in social networks and messengers. Owner of a network of anonymous pro-government Telegram channels.

– Sergey Pegov – Russian «military commander», who is, in fact, an agent of the GRU, with whom he coordinates his actions and texts. One of the key figures in Russian attempts to destabilize Odessa.

– Alexander Dugin – the main ideologist of the «Russian World», has connections with right-wing radical politicians in the US and EU countries. Dugin's organization «International Eurasian Movement» has branches in 29 countries around the world. In early December, Dugin spoke online at the opening of «Days of Darya Dugina» in Serbia with the co-organization and participation of «experts» from Italy, France and the Czech Republic.

– Mikhail Galustyan – Russian comedian and friend of Ramzan Kadyrov. As president of the «Federation of Military-Tactical Games», Galustyan directly supported the construction of a training ground for training volunteers to participate in the war against Ukraine.

– Alexander Marshal (Minkov) – Russian singer, member of the Putin Team, member of the Public Council of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In 2023, he personally supported the initiative to pay monetary assistance to the Russian military for the destruction of Leopard tanks transferred to Ukraine. He is a member of the “Russian Radio agitation brigade”, which gives concerts for the Russian military, collects and transfers volunteer assistance to them. The Marshal's daughter lives in the USA.
