Grand Hôtel: does the hotel in the TF1 series really exist? The hotel in the Grand Hotel series, with Solène Herbert (Tomorrow belongs to us), Carole Bouquet, Victor Meutel, Alain Fabien-Delon or even Maxence Danet-Fauvel (Skam France), on TF1, does it really exist? If most of the scenes were shot in the studio, the shots outside the establishment are indeed real. But where is the palace located?

The return to school has started rather well for TF1, in particular thanks to its new series Grand Hôtel , which attracted 3.78 million viewers during episodes 3 and 4, broadcast on September 10, 2020. The story takes place in a sumptuous hotel managed by the Vasseur family, Xavier (Alain Fabien-Delon), Margaux (Solène Herbert), Sophie (Marie Kremer) and the mother, Agnès (Carole Bouquet). If the atmosphere seems calm at first, everything changes when Anthony (Victor Meutelet) is hired as a waiter to discover the truth about the disappearance of his sister, Amélie.

The Grand Hotel hotel exists!

As revealed by Allociné, most of the scenes at Grand Hôtel , inspired by the Spanish series, were shot in the studio in Bry-sur-Marne. On the other hand, the exterior sockets of the establishment are very real since the palace really exists: it is the Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons, built in 1908 and located in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. To give you an idea, the price of the rooms per night varies between 480 euros and 8000 euros.

Everything was recreated in the studio, except for the hotel lobby and the exteriors. The lobby is so beautiful and chic that it didn't make much sense, economically and artistically, to recreate it. the rest, the corridors, the rooms, the suites, and even the dining room, were reproduced in the studio, ”explained producer Arnaud Figaret.

A winter shoot

Le Parisien specifies that the shooting of Grand Hôtel , which lasted six months, took place in winter to take advantage of the establishment's winter closure: ” The majority of the shooting took place during our annual winter closure, which allowed to give great flexibility to production “confirms Aurélien Guéry, the hotel's Groups and Events Director.

The recording of the TF1 series was interrupted in March because of the coronavirus pandemic and the confinement. A situation that Maxence Danet-Fauvel (Will) did not really like as he confided in an interview with PRBK: ” It was boring because I had just started with the new director. We had only one day every two. (…) The day of resumption I had all my most complex scenes to play. A hard moment because I could not train during confinement, especially since my school was closed. a big challenge and I think I succeeded.
