Google is rolling out a new feature in its search results on computers, tablets and smartphones. It will now be possible to check the information of a site or a source before clicking on the proposed results.
When we do research on Google, it happens to find results from sites that we know.
It could be my site for example, or that of a newspaper or blog that we know well.
Conversely, it happens that these are search results of sites that we do not know at all.
How do you know if it is a reliable site or not?
Google offers a solution!
Know the history and security of a site quickly
The new functionality of Google search results is very simple. For each search result that is offered to us, there are three small dots on the right.
By clicking on it a window appears to give us information on the famous site.

This Google file allows us to:
- Know the description and history of a website (based on Wikipedia)
- Learn when the site was referenced for the 1re times by google
- See the full URL of the search result and therefore if the site is HTTPS secure
- Know if it is an organic search result or an advertising one
Google explains on its blog that this new functionality is being rolled out gradually in the United States on its search engine for computers, smartphones and tablets.
However, we can expect it to be offered all over the world during the year 2021.
