Google appears to be developing a new feature for the Chrome browser that will allow users to receive short AI-generated summaries of online store reviews. This innovation should help to evaluate the reliability of sellers more quickly.
User X (formerly Twitter) with the nickname Leopeva64 discovered an experimental feature called “Store Reviews” in the page information pop-up menu in the browser's address bar. Although the feature is not currently available, its description suggests that it will generate reviews based on data from independent sites such as Trust Pilot, ScamAdvisor, and Google itself.
These platforms allow users to leave reviews about their shopping experiences on various sites, helping others understand whether to cooperate with a particular store.
According to Leopeva64, in addition to the summary review, the new feature may have a button to call up a separate sidebar. This panel will likely collect all user reviews, allowing you to get more detailed information about a particular store.
The “Store Reviews” function will be another example of using generative AI to create short summaries. Similar tools are already used in Gmail for summarizing emails and in many other AI solutions.
It is not yet known when this feature will become available to the general public, but its integration could significantly facilitate online shopping, making it safer and more transparent.
