As a precautionary measure in connection with COVID-19, Vegas Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon will replace head coach Peter DeBoer behind the bench on Tuesday night.
This was announced by the formation of the National Hockey League (NHL) in a press release, hours before the Nevada club faces the St. Louis Blues, who are visiting T-Mobile Arena.
It’s not just DeBoer who will be missing, but all of the Golden Knights coaching staff. They were placed in isolation. The squad includes assistants Ryan Craig, Ryan McGill and Steve Spott, as well as goalie coach Mike Rosati and video manager Tommy Cruz.
To support him, McCrimmon will be joined by the coaching staff of the Silver Knights of Henderson, the NHL roster club.
The GM has pilot experience, having coached the Brandon Wheat Kings, an Ontario Junior Hockey League roster, a few times over the past three decades.
