After the Coliseum, here are the very first images of Paul Mescal in his gladiator armor for Gladiator 2. A superb bib which hides a big reference to Ridley Scott's first film.

24 years after an acclaimed first part and awarded by 5 Oscars, Gladiator 2is getting ready to arrive this year at the cinema. Gradually As the months pass, the mystery dissipates around this sequel which will see Lucius (Paul Mescal), the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen in Gladiator) and nephew of Commodus ( Joaquin Phoenix), follow in the footsteps of Maximus, very admiring of his journey, in a climate where Ancient Rome is torn apart by the fratricidal confrontation of the two co-emperors Caracalla (Joseph Quinn) and Geta (Fred Hechinger).

Filming ended last January. We should soon be entitled to a first trailer. In the meantime, we only have stolen images from the shoot to sink our teeth into, such as those of the Coliseum, a training camp, as well as the film's logo written on a shield,held by a statue of a woman and struck by of a cult line that Maximus utters in the first film.

This time, there are much more important images that reach us, since the Irish actorPaul Mescal appears for the first time in his gladiator armor. Two images have leaked on which we notice that Lucius sportsthe same armor as his idol Maximus (Russel Crowe).

Indeed, for those who remember, Maximus had his famous plastron of two horses: Scatto and Argento. His two mounts which were worn by him kidnapped during his deposition and reduction into slavery. He presents them to young Lucius before a fight in the Colosseum in Rome. This confirms once again that Lucius will seek to do more. do honor to; the ex-Roman general in the film which is announced in cinemas November 20, 2024.
