Georgian Public Broadcaster Employees Demand to Open Daytime Broadcast for Discussions

Some employees of the Public Broadcaster of Georgia have called on the management to respond to public demands and open the daytime broadcast of «Channel One» for political discussions during a critical period for the country. This is reported by Echo of the Caucasus.

As stated in the report, employees stated during a press conference near the television building that «Channel One» is not opening the broadcast, citing technical reasons. However, representatives of the television and radio company do not agree with this.

The host of the news program Vasil Ivanov-Chikovani noted that, despite limited resources, the public broadcaster has everything necessary to implement the project. The employees are ready to both create content and technically organize television formats and broadcasts.

«We are representatives of different editorial offices, and we have everything necessary, people and technical equipment, to launch new programs and conduct full-fledged discussions. The only thing we lack is the decision and desire of the management», — Ivanov-Chikovani emphasized.
