Author of the A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy novel series George R. R. Martin stated that the events in the next book, The Winds of Winter, will be different from those shown in the series "Game of Thrones". The writer shared this on his blog.
"Novels are larger and more complex than a series. Some things that were in the HBO series won't happen in the book. For example, new characters will appear in the novel, which will influence the plot. I will also say that not all characters who have survived to the end of Game of Thrones will live to the end of the A Song of Ice and Fire cycle. Just like not all characters who die in "Game of Thrones" will die in the book" — Martin shared with fans.
He also noted that he could not talk about the ending in the book.
“And the ending? You'll have to wait until I get to him. Some things will remain the same, but many — no", — emphasized the author.
