The American giant General Motors (GM) is continuing its campaign of seduction by means of an electric component by announcing its intention to offer only electric vehicles by 2035. This declaration, very strong in meaning given the stature of General Motors, is part of an imposing US 27 billion electrification plan that will create 30 electric models by 2030. Along with this electric shift, GM wants to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. To do this, the multinational will employ only renewable energies by 2030 to power its American factories. Carbon offsetting and the purchase of carbon credits will also be used to reduce its footprint. Beyond the green image, GM is undoubtedly encouraged by the market valuation of Tesla, which confirms that the electric shift can also be very profitable for general manufacturers.
