GeForce RTX 3060 launches on February 25th
|
So far, NVIDIA has only talked about End of February when it came to the availability or the market launch of the GeForce RTX 3060. Today NVIDIA has informed the press and thus the public that the initially smallest Ampere offshoot will start on February 25th. On this day at the latest, the first tests of the corresponding cards can be expected. However, it is not yet known whether there will also be a Founders Edition or just Custom Designs.
So far we only know the US price of the cheaper versions of the GeForce RTX 3060. This is said to be 329 US dollars. We don’t currently know a euro price.

The GeForce RTX 3060 is based on the GA106 GPU.
The number of transistors is not yet known, although this GPU is already available in the mobile version for notebooks. In the desktop version, the GeForce RTX 3060 has 3,584 FP32 and 1,792 INT32 processing units.
The re are also 112 tensor cores and 28 RT cores.
The base clock should be at a comparatively low 1,320 MHz, and at least 1,780 MHz should be achieved via boost.
The thermal design power is given as 170 W.
The memory expansion is likely to be a special feature.
The GeForce RTX 3060 should offer a full 12 GB of GDDR6. This is connected via a 192-bit wide memory interface. With a clock rate of 1,750 MHz it comes to a memory bandwidth of 336 GB / s. With this 12 GB it offers more graphics memory than a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or GeForce RX 3070. Even a GeForce RTX 3080 only offers 10 GB of graphics memory. NVIDIA is likely to do this mainly because the criticism of the built-in 6 GB (that would be the only possible alternative) would have been extremely high.
In due course you will also find a test of the GeForce RTX 3060 on Hardwareluxx.
The euro price should also be known by then. It remains to be seen whether the GeForce RTX 3060 will be more available than is the case for other new models. NVIDIA and the manufacturers should have provided a certain buffer, but the demand in the price segment of a little over 300 euros is certainly enormous.
