The goals of José Paradela and Braian Romero impressed the fans, although it was not the only thing that caught the attention of the 'Millionaires': Nicolás De La Cruz was surprisingly replaced in the first half, to the obvious anger of Marcelo Gallardo.
As could be seen during the match, the Uruguayan midfielder was sore after a divided play and caused concern. Observing the scene, the experienced trainer tried to start a conversation with 'Nico', to find out about his physical condition, but the communication was not optimal.
Even the “Doll” looked angry at not getting a strong response from his boss and opted for change. Thus, at 23 minutes, Nicolás De la Cruz left the field, without greeting Gallardo, to allow Ezequiel Barco to enter. The circumstances showed a problem between both protagonists, although finally the DT dispelled the doubts.
“'Nico' came out due to a nuisance due to a crash. I thought I could go on, so could he, but he needed quick answers to not take risks in these close games. I decided to change quickly because it didn't give me details and I couldn't play with discomfort. At the moment, it's just a blow”, revealed the River Plate coach at a press conference.
