My brother is either too simple or too complicated. He sold his apartment and invested in a house construction project.
While the house was being built, he decided that he could move in with me and his family. And the family, by the way, consists of my brother, his wife, and two children.
The argument my brother uses is as simple as a chair – the apartment I live in now belonged to our parents, we grew up in it. That's why my brother considers it his too. There is one caveat, though – apart from his childhood memories, he has no connection with this apartment.
According to the documents, it belongs to me, and my parents decided to do it for a reason. My father inherited a four-room apartment from his parents. We had lived there for as long as I can remember. My parents often said that when my brother and I grew up, they would sell the apartment so that we could buy our own. But in the end, it turned out differently.
While I was still in school, my brother was already finishing his studies. My parents took my grandmother in because she could no longer live on her own for health reasons. My grandmother had an apartment that my brother had asked for. Later, this apartment was transferred to him, but he was not able to live alone either.
He incurred debts, which were then paid off by his parents. One day, due to his stupidity, he caused a fire there, after which my brother had to move back to us, and my parents had to pay for a new renovation.
Then they talked to my brother and said that renovating the apartment was too expensive. So Zenek was faced with the fact that his parents would repair and furnish his grandmother's apartment, and Zenek himself would have no claim to his parents' apartment. Of course, it was more profitable for my brother to buy a fully furnished apartment now than to wait for his parents to decide to sell it. My brother already had a ready option.
My parents invested all their wealth in the renovation, took out a loan for furniture and household appliances. They died four years ago. I then suggested that Zenek buy the remaining part of the apartment that he had inherited from his mother. My brother was getting married, so he accepted my offer with joy, because the money would come in handy. I took out a loan, paid off his share and became the sole owner of the apartment.
Everyone was happy with this arrangement. My brother got a renovated two-room apartment from his grandmother with furniture, he bought a car with the help of my parents, and I paid off his share. I got a four-room apartment.
My brother thought the same, until his wife started thinking for him. She decided that everything was wrong. Why do they only have a two-room apartment and I have a four-room apartment?? My brother also started to resent me for it and I had to remind him regularly why. For a while, my brother let it go, although his wife was very unhappy about it.
Zenek recently decided that they wanted to live in a private house. He sold his apartment, took out a loan, and invested in the construction. He showed up at my place with all his belongings, his wife and children. Everything would have been fine, if not for the fact that their visit was prolonged and the apartment was slowly turning into ruin.
I decided to tell my brother to get the hell out of my apartment with the rest of the gang, since they were not respecting my hospitality, to which he reacted very violently. He asked why I was throwing him out of my parents' apartment. I reminded him again whose apartment it was.
It was only then that his wife found out the truth – Zenek took a nice sum from me in exchange for his share of the inheritance and kept quiet about it all. They indignantly packed their things and left, slamming the door.
