(Moscow) Quebecer Marion Thenault recorded her first career podium in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup on Saturday.
Thenault of Sherbrooke captured bronze in aerials in Moscow after performing a backward jump with three spins, including two on the first, to amass 90.59 points in the super-final.
The 20-year-old was edged by American Winter Vinecki at 94.11 points and Australia’s Laura Peel at 92.72.
For their part, Quebecers Justine Ally and Flavie Aumond followed in the 15e and 20e places, respectively.
On the men’s side, the Russian Maxim Burov pleased his supporters by dominating the Moscow event.
Burov collected 126.44 points in the super-final and edged American Christopher Lillis by 9.5 points and Swiss Noé Roth by 22.70.
Quebecers Lewis Irving, Émile Nadeau and Miha Fontaine led to the 19e, 20e and 28e steps, in order.
