Little more than a month after the complaint, the Ethics Commission of Congress approved the final report that recommends 120 days of suspension and deduction of their assets for the same time against the legislator Freddy Díaz, denounced, more than a month ago, for sexual violation of a worker in his office in the Parliament facilities. This decision must be ratified by the plenary.

“Not here there is armor, wherever it comes from”, reiterated the head of the working group, Karol Paredes, from Acción Popular, who estimated that if they approve a sanction, it could enter the agenda of the plenary session this week.

PREVIOUS NOTE

The legislator, who was expelled from Alianza para el Progreso after learning of the complaint at the end of last July, is also being investigated by the prosecution. On August 5, the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation issued a 9-month bar against him from leaving the country.

The same judicial instance declared unfounded the request of the Public Ministry to order the preliminary arrest against Díaz Monago.
