An indictment was sent to the court against residents of Izyum who embezzled state funds allocated for the restoration of housing destroyed by the occupiers.
This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, over the past two years, two state registrars and a resident of Izyum organized a “scheme” of embezzling the state budget through the “eReconstruction” program.
The women were engaged in drawing up documents with fictitious information in order to receive funds for a house allegedly destroyed on the territory of the Oskilskaya TG of the Izyum district as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
In reality, the house was intact and had not suffered any damage since the full-scale Russian invasion. The house had been dismantled before the war began, and there were no legal documents for it.
However, thanks to forged documents, the women conducted state registration of ownership of the house and, through illegal transactions in the Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property, they formed a certificate for the amount of more than 1.5 million UAH in compensation.
The women will be tried in the Dzerzhynskyi District Court of Kharkiv. They face up to twelve years in prison with confiscation of all property.
