Former US Ambassador to Russia and member of a group working on new sanctions against the aggressor country, Michael McFaul figured out how to make the Russians pay for the restoration of Ukraine.

He said on the Dozhd TV channel that exit duties could be introduced for Russian citizens, according to Fakty.com.ua.

Thus, according to McFaul, traveling abroad – it is a privilege, not a human right.

He added that even after the passage of the Magnitsky Act, he said that “according to the American constitution, no Russian has the right to visit Disneyland.”

“It may be a small fee. Money can be transferred to the fund for the restoration of Ukraine. I, as a US taxpayer, already transfer money to the government of Ukraine, most European taxpayers do the same. Why don't the Russians do it… whose government has invaded Ukraine and is destroying it?" – he asked.

According to McFaul, the transfer of funds for the restoration of Ukraine — this is humanitarian aid and a generous act, and “all the good people of the world, regardless of the color of their passport, are obliged to help restore Ukraine.”

The ex-diplomat recalled that duties on obtaining a visa.

"Russians are not forced to go on vacation to the French Riviera. They can go to Belarus – good place for tourism. No one tells them that it is necessary to cross the borders of the EU, but if they want to go on a trip, they must contribute to the restoration of Ukraine”, – expressed the opinion of a former diplomat.
