Alain Bellemare, who had a turbulent tenure as CEO of Bombardier, was appointed to the top management of US carrier Delta Air Lines on Wednesday.
“With deep international experience in managing aerospace companies with annual revenues of several billion dollars, Alain will lead our international investment portfolio,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in an internal memo.
Mr. Bellemare will report directly to Mr. Bastian and will notably be responsible for relations with Delta’s airline partners within the international Skyteam alliance. Already holding US citizenship, he will move to Atlanta, where Delta’s headquarters are located.
Remember that Mr. Bellemare, now 59 years old, was dismissed by Bombardier in March 2020. He was entitled to a “departure arrangement” of $ 15.7 million.
