The Polaris Dawn mission will last five days. The team consists of four people: billionaire Jared Isaacman, who funded the Polaris mission with SpaceX, retired US Air Force Lt. Col. Scott Poteet, and two SpaceX engineers, Anna Menon and Sarah Gillis.

As part of the mission, the first spacewalk of non-professional astronauts is planned for September 12. At the same time, it is planned that it will be carried out only by Isaacman and Gillis. The crew will also test Starlink laser communications, spacesuits developed by SpaceX, and investigate the effects of spaceflight and radiation on human health.

The Polaris Dawn mission will be the longest flight since the Americans landed on the moon more than 50 years ago. Initially, it was planned that the five-day flight would begin on August 27, but its start was postponed due to a helium leak.
