Jule Brandová's shot from the 56th minute was ruled out for offside by the referees after the intervention of the video. Germany recorded the worst result at the World Cup in history. During the previous eight participations in the championship, they advanced from the basic group every time.

The Moroccans, on the other hand, forgot about the opening debacle from Germany 0:6 and claimed their second victory in a row. The victory over Colombia and promotion from second place was decided in the set time of the first half by Anisa Lahmaríová, who corrected Ghizlani Čebbaková's previously unconverted penalty.
